Khaki the Ingrate

So, Ben and I finally took the plunge and got a doggy door for Khaki. After several miserable weeks of ordering, sending back, reordering, and waiting on doors, we finally received a new back door for Khaki.

Yes, we had to get a completely new door. And yes, I know it is ridiculous.

All I can say is that she is rather dim or very ungrateful. She doesn't use it! Ben and I stand next the the doggy door multiple times during the day coaxing her in and out of it. We might as well just open up the dang door.

I have high hopes that one day in the near future she will figure this whole thing out, but in the meantime I am overly frustrated.

Did I mention that I hate the doggy door?

I must be crazy for becoming a dog owner and lover.

Texas Fun

Ben and I went to New Braunfels with our friends Summer and Jason this past weekend. Summer's family ownes a condo right off the river so we were able to drive down and stay all weekend and just relax and have a great time. We drove down Thursday night and came home Sunday. Here are just a few of the weekend's highlights.

Highlight #1: We stopped and ate Fazolis on the way! I LOVE Fazolis and miss it Oh so much!

Highlight #2: Friday morning we got up, ate breakfast from a local delicatessen, and floated the river for a couple of hours. It was so much fun! I had never been before and I was pretty scared of the tube shoots at first. (In the end I had reason to be because I scraped my "hip" and it is still hurting!) It was the perfect time of the season to go because the summer rush had ended and we were the only people on the river.

Highlight #3: Friday afternoon we drove up to the quaint town of Gruene ("Green"). We had a great meal and Sangrias over looking a river at the Gristmill and then shopped at all the local stores. I found a great couple of buys and we had a blast shopping around.

Highlight #4: Saturday morning we slept in late, got ready, and headed to a local winery called Dry Comal Creek. We tasted 10 different wines and a white port. It just went to prove that I am right in believing Texas makes some of the yummiest wines!

Highlight #5: We then drove down to San Antonio and shopped at Market Square, took a boat tour of the River Walk, and ate a delicious dinner at Rio Rio.

Highlight #6: One of the best parts of the trip was that it was so laid back and relaxing. We watched movies, slept in each day, and just took our time doing whatever sounded good. It was a WONDERFUL getaway.

Highlight #7: It was also such a treat for me just getting to go to New Braunfels. I had never been and didn't realize what a central location it is to so many things... the Hill Country, San Antonio, Austin, local wineries, and so much more. Basically everything you could want to do was within 25 minutes.

Highlight #8: We are so lucky to have such fun and thoughtful friends. We had a blast this past weekend and are so glad Summer and Jason invited us to come along.

I will post pictures of the trip soon!

Bad Blogger; Great Dinner

So, I know I am the worst blogger ever. Anyway, here is the latest update...

Holly & Mark took Ben and me to III Forks this past weekend as a celebration of Yalicoo. We had a wonderful dinner and it was a great excuse for Holly and me to go shopping and take some new pics. We savored our steaks while listening to a live jazz band playing in the background. It was a SPECTACULAR evening!

Hope you enjoy! :)
